The sheer number of cars on the road in America can be overwhelming. We drive to work, school, and the grocery store, among other things.
But… have you ever considered how many of them are actually built in the United States?
Well, that’s what we’re going to answer in this article. However, there’s an issue:
Most vehicles are not entirely manufactured in a single country; rather, their parts are sourced from a variety of international locations, and the assembly line for the vehicle is typically dispersed across multiple countries around the world.
So, how do we solve this problem?
We determined that in order for a vehicle to be considered American-made, it must be assembled in the United States with at least 50% of its parts sourced from the United States.
We believe that this is the best way to ensure that the vehicles we consider to be American-made have met the highest quality standards and contain the greatest number of American-sourced components.
Let’s get started…

Is Tesla 100% American made?
This question does not have a simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer. While Tesla manufactures some of its parts in the United States, it also imports components from other countries.
This is due to the fact that the cost of production in many other countries is frequently lower than in the United States.
Furthermore, some components that are difficult to obtain in the United States are imported from foreign suppliers. As a result, Tesla is not entirely manufactured in the United States, but it remains an iconic American brand.
